Policies

Confidentiality of Information

At the beginning of your treatment, a thorough case history and physical assessment of your current health status is prepared to create a personalized treatment plan. Further discussions will take place while you undergo therapy.

All information that is given to the therapist is completely confidential and safeguarded in your medical record. This cannot be transferred or released without your prior, written consent.

Consent Before Treatment

Your informed consent must be received after the therapist has explained the treatment plan, what area(s) of the body will be worked on, clothing/draping options, treatment options and the risks of treating or not treating.

Withdrawl of Consent

Your privacy and concerns will always be respected and you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Changing or Stopping Treatment

You may change or stop the treatment at any time. If during a session, you feel discomfort, please tell your therapist immediately.

Registration of Massage Therapist

Your RMT is a registered member of the College of Massage therapists of Ontario. To attain this certification, she has received comprehensive academic and practical training at a recognized school and successfully completed a series of written and clinical exams.

RMTs can be identified by their Certificate of Registration, displayed publicly in the clinic and by our photo IDs, worn when we are off-site on a call.

Receipts

RMTs may issue official receipts for treatment received. Massage therapy is not an OHIP benefit, but many extended healthcare plans include massage. Since plans vary widely, please check your policy for details of your own coverage.
