Christine Schaafsma RMT, HST My original passion was nutrition and always knew the health care field was where I belonged. I still have great interest in nutrition, but it was the “introduction to massage” course that I tried one weekend in 1999, that got me hooked on massage therapy. I learned so much more about the human body, and how it works. It was a fascinating course, and did you know massage therapy school also has a small segment that covers nutrition? We needed to learn about nutrition for the basic knowledge of the health of muscles, and how it relates to deficiencies, and health issues. Every massage therapist has their own unique touch and uses different techniques and routines in treatments. Sometimes it takes a while to find a therapist with whom you are comfortable. As a professional, I don't take it personally if I am not that person for you, and will happily offer a referral to another therapist who would be more suitable. The people who choose to work with me have offered many kind reviews. Some of my clients comment on how strong I am and how deep I work their muscles, but others ask me to work deeper still. The spectrum of what is "right" goes far. Please don't hesitate to tell me about your own needs. I will listen to, and try to accommodate each individual person who walks into the clinic. Hot Stone Therapist PractitionerHot Stone Therapy is well known therapeutic relaxation technique using heated Basalt Stones.
